Spring 2020 Charity LAN Cancellation

Posted March 12, 2020

Friends, gamers, and supporters of LL-

As pretty much everyone is already aware, confirmed cases of Coronavirus have hit Missouri, and the CDC is asking everyone in areas like ours to stay home from public events if at all possible.

We take our commitment to providing the best LAN parties in Saint Louis very seriously, and we do everything we can to fulfill that goal. However, the health and safety of our attendees, staff, and sponsors must always come first. The LL Staff took time to meet and discuss the best course of action, and even in the two days we’ve been doing so, many large official events have been canceled or postponed this year. After a lot of deliberation, we’ve decided to err on the side of caution and do what we think is best for the city and all of our friends.

We are officially canceling our Spring 2020 Charity LAN. Although this action may not ultimately affect the number of people in Saint Louis who will get sick, even slowing the spread of the disease a small amount is worth doing.

Full refunds will be made available to anyone who wants or needs them. If you choose not to get a refund, your ticket price will go to charity just as it normally would at any of our charity LANs. If you have any trouble obtaining your refund please let us know at [email protected].

It’s also important to note that this is a cancellation of the Spring event, not a reschedule, as we do not have a backup location we can use right now. The Fall 2020 event (Oct. 17th-18th) is, for now, still scheduled and unaffected by this decision.

Since we already had this weekend open, we’d like to connect with all of you and play some games online on the LAN weekend if you’re up for it! You can see those details here.

Although we don’t have any details at this time, please let us know what you’d like to play on Discord if you think you’ll be able to make it.

If you have any questions, comments, or thoughts, please reach out to us on Discord, Facebook, Reddit, or [email protected].
